Echoing the rhythm of natural sunlight, they don't just illuminate spaces, but elevate them. It's a spectacle of style and innovation all wrapped up into one experience.

Over the span of two days, a beach, a forest, and a field transformed into more than just landscapes. They became stages for a unique collaboration between DropDrop and Grey Matter Group. Their shared vision? To craft a high-end commercial for Legrand Commercial Shading that transcends traditional advertising.
The beach scene offered an air of tranquility, a perfect setting to highlight the elegance of Legrand’s shades. The forest shoot immersed the product in a rich, organic environment, underscoring its adaptability. The open field was transformed into a showcase of sophistication, emphasizing the product’s versatility.

Day One

Seaside Serenity: The Dance of Light and Shade

As the sun painted the horizon with hues of gold, the beach transformed into an open-air studio. Rick Devon, the creative director, and cinematographer, Cassidy Bisher were seen skillfully maneuvering the ARRI Alexa, their eyes focused on capturing the perfect frame. Against this idyllic backdrop, the Legrand commercial shade stood as a protagonist, its elegance highlighted against the raw beauty of nature.

The day wasn’t without its challenges. The wind, playful yet disruptive, threatened to upset the delicate balance of the shoot. Sand, notorious for its damaging potential, loomed as an omnipresent hazard to our equipment. Yet, the team navigated these obstacles with a deft blend of caution and creativity.

In the midst of this orchestrated chaos, our talent, Jessica Whitehead, shone. As cameras rolled, she effortlessly blocked the sun from her face, her silhouette creating a striking contrast against the Legrand shade. This was more than just another day at the beach; it was a testament to the harmony of art and nature, and the magic that ensues when they come together.

Forest Whispers: Embracing the Organic Design

Day two found us nestled within the embrace of towering trees, their majestic heights serving as a natural cathedral for our shoot. The central figure amidst this verdant splendor was our cinematographer, Cassidy Bisher. Armed with the Red Epic Dragon and the original slider, he stood as a modern-day explorer charting unknown territories.
Above him hung a layer of diffusion, subtly taming the harsh sunlight and preventing it from spilling onto the tree branches in the foreground. It was a delicate dance of shadow and light, a careful orchestration that lent an ethereal quality to each frame captured.
With steady hands and a keen eye, Bisher pushed in, his every movement echoing the precision of a craftsman. Through the canopy of leaves, snippets of blue sky peeked through, adding a splash of color to the otherwise monochromatic palette.
The second day was more than just another day at work; it was a celebration of natural beauty and human ingenuity. As we wrapped up, the forest seemed to whisper its approval, its rustling leaves sounding like applause on a job well done.

Field of Elegance: A Showcase of Sophistication

We are immersed into a vivid landscape, vibrant with summer hues. The Red Epic Dragon captures a striking contrast of a figure in black, her poise enhanced against a white legrand shade. ARRI lights pierce through diffusion screens, spotlighting our dignified protagonist, while a key light from the ARRI Sky panels on the right competes with the sun, infusing the scene with a surreal glow.
