Underneath the Stars Passion Project
How do you bond with your innate purpose and connect with the deeper meanings of life through your work? For me, it’s Passion Projects or creative “Side Projects”. These are incredibly important. Personally, they help me keep a sense of purpose and bring clarity into my life.
Usually we don’t have time to do them, and to actually pull them off you need to make tremendous personal sacrifices. Yes, anyone can do them and with a little bit of inspiration you can come up with some pretty cool concepts. It’s the commitment part that’s the hardest.
This past spring, we shot a music video for my song “Underneath the Stars” which has been streamed over 130,000 times on Spotify. Music is my first love and I’ll never give it up. It’s what makes me tick and breaths life into my soul. So why not couple that with a bit of visual storytelling in the most ambitious way possible while asking people to work for free and wake up at ungodly hours to make it a reality? Why would I climb into a freezing cold tub and almost drown over and over again until we got the right shot? Why would insanely busy people ever do this? Because you only live once and it’s what all of us artists do to escape life’s noise.
Now I dare you to go and live fully. If there’s nothing interesting going on in your life at the moment make your life more interesting with a passion project. This was nine months in the making. I hope you enjoy our labor of love.
